More on critical thinking

EFL Geek’s comment points to a couple of interesting posts, tho the thread is a little different. I’m not talking here about “how to teach critical thinking in Japan/Asia to the benighted natives who just don’t get it”. I was just interested in the idea that there are three approaches or “logics” to instruction, and that they contain elements that contradict elements in the others. I’m not sure I agree with all this, tho. Where is the evidence, for one thing? But the idea that the teaching approach of imitation might be directly linked to the aim of socializing young children/people I find very interesting. Again, tho, I’d want more evidence, but perhaps it’s all in the bibliography?
